The ICRC Sub-Delegation in Jos is looking for a qualified candidate with the capacity to work independently to fill in the following interesting position;

AGRONOMIST/VETERINARIAN

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assumes responsibilities in running agro and vet programmes, while reporting to direct supervisor
2. Conducts analysis of the situation, assessments and proposes interventions
3. Designs, implements and monitors programme activities
4. Conducts distributions with field teams
5. provides independently monthly statistics on activities in general
6. Maintains contact with beneficiaries and The Nigerian Red Cross in coordination with the supervisor
7. Plans and organizes field trips to follow up on activities in the field
8. Represent ICRC in meeting 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS;

1. University degree in Agriculture and Animal Science
2. Minimum of 3 years experience in agriculture and animal science 
3. Very good understanding of the environmental situation in the area of assignment
4. Very good analytical and organizational skills
5. Team leadership skills
6. Good command of written and spoken English (knowledge of Huasa being an advantage)
7. Good computer skills
8. Willingness to travel extensively and to participate in extended field trips
9. Readiness to spend 50-75% of the time in the field
